Early Stage Investor
About Errol Damelin

Errol Damelin has founded, invested in and backed over 75 digital and tech companies worldwide, with experience serving as a CEO and Chairman for innovative businesses. His impact reaches globally, spanning from the US through most European countries, the UK, Israel, Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia, South Africa and Nigeria.

As an early stage investor and a serial founder himself, he takes a hands-on approach to his investments and works to quickly and efficiently recognize the potential within the next generation of entrepreneurs. He is not an institutional VC, but rather a seed investor who consistently works to optimize product roadmaps and funding strategies for startups.

Focusing on sectors including fintech, crypto, and health and wellness, as well as SaaS, marketplace and data analytics, he helps fellow founders grow their companies to new heights. Damelin emphasizes collaboration through every step of the investment process.

Damelin founded fintech company Wonga and co-founded Tide, an SME Banking Startup. His early investments include companies such as Wise, Cazoo, Purplebricks, K Health, YuLife, Sure, Demyst, Zoe, Farewill, CityMapper, Modifi, UnBabel, Thimble, HiBob, Elliptic, Lendingkart and VivaReal.

In 2010, TechCrunch recognized Damelin as Founder of the Year. The following year, he was recognized by The Guardian as Digital Entrepreneur of the Year and by EY as UK’s Entrepreneur of the year.
